SUMMER DANCE & ARTS
CAMP
Beginners to Advanced Beginners Ages 6 to
11
Register for One to Three Weeks from Monday, June
14 – Friday, July 2, 2010
This
beginner’s camp for students 6 though 11 emphasizes the
principles of ballet and modern dance alongside a creative
curriculum that includes exploratory work in music, the arts
and other dance forms. The program is separated into the
Primary Camp for children 6 through 8 and the Elementary Camp for
students 9 to 11. All
camps run 10am
to 2:30pm
Monday through Friday for a period of three (3) weeks;
each week culminates with an in-studio demonstration for family
members and friends to attend and enjoy!
Led
by a mature, educated and encouraging dance faculty, Summer
Dance & Arts Camp is designed to foster the young dancer’s
creativity, curiosity and problem-solving skills. Children will focus on the
basic components of dance, along with an introduction to hip hop,
tap and cultural dance.
Additional activities include arts and crafts, rhythm and
music, and storytelling. Students also learn important
performance and life skills, including character development,
self-confidence, stage presence and collaboration.
Students
may participate in any one or more weeks of a Summer Dance &
Arts Camp. To learn

into the Junior Division Summer Intensive for dancers 12 to 15 and
the Senior Division Summer Intensive for dancers 16 and older. Both Junior and Senior
Division Intensives run 11am

collaboration with the faculty over the course of the
Intensive.
The
Summer Intensive Program is structured to advance the artistic and

The Center’s core curriculum,
which includes a daily ballet class and a daily Horton or

The core curriculum is supplemented by additional workshops
and classes in jazz, hip hop, partnering, cultural dance,
improvisation, composition and body conditioning. All students receive a
written evaluation at the start, mid-point and conclusion of the
Intensive, allowing the student’s individual progress to be
charted.
Students
may participate in any one or more weeks of a Summer Intensive; however, only
students who attend the full three-week Program may participate in
