Originated by The Center for Contemporary Dance, Dancin’ F.E.A.T. is a joyous dance, academic enrichment, and fitness program that cultivates excellence in Focus, Energy, Accuracy and Timing (F.E.A.T.) through a 15-year-old pedagogy that responds to the total child.  Classes include the learning of the program’s specialized fusion of ballet and jazz, and place emphasis on building self-esteem in young children, supporting their continuing interest in learning and achieving.  All Dancin’ F.E.A.T. classes include the learning of performance quality ballet-jazz dances that reinforce grade-appropriate concepts in science, technology, math and language arts.  Students perform at public showcases in the community and in the School’s winter and spring concerts as follows:

6:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday, December 16, 2017 at The Center for Contemporary Dance

7:00-9:00 p.m., Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Trinity Preparatory School

Saturdays from 10:00 – 10:50 a.m.   Grades Pre-K to K
The program’s signature dance style of ballet-jazz  is used to cultivate excellence in performance quality and the mastery of choreography inspired by the learning of the alphabet, numbers, colors, shapes, the spelling of each child’s name and short words.   Students further explore the five senses through choreography that includes grade-appropriate educational concepts.  Also included are State standards in dance, physical education, language arts and music.  Tuition:  $65 per month, plus one-time registration fee of $20 and one-time production fee of $55

Saturdays from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.    Grades K to 1
The program’s signature dance style of ballet-jazz  is used to cultivate excellence in performance quality and the learning of choreography inspired by scientific concepts related to gravity, changes in motion, the exploration of physical properties (size, shape, color, temperature) and the study of an algorithm as a sequence of steps.  Also included are State standards in dance, physical education, language arts and music.  Tuition:  $65 per month, plus one-time registration fee of $20 and one-time production fee of $55

The program’s signature dance style of ballet-jazz  is used to cultivate excellence in performance quality and the learning of choreography inspired by scientific concepts related to states of matter, ecosystems and forms of energy, with continuing explorations in the Law of Gravity and an introduction to the solar system.  Also included are State standards in dance, physical education, language arts and music.  Tuition:  $65 per month, plus one-time registration fee of $20 and one-time production fee of $55

Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.   Grades 4 to 5
The program’s signature dance style of ballet-jazz  is used to cultivate excellence in performance quality and the learning of choreography inspired by scientific concepts related to the solar system, the flow of energy through the food chain and the water cycle, with continuing explorations of algorithms.  Students make use of digital technology to collaboratively capture film footage and develop original music that supplements their performance work.  Also included are State standards in dance, physical education, language arts, technology and music.  Tuition:  $65 per month, plus one-time registration fee of $20 and one-time production fee of $55
