More than a standard dance studio, The Center for Contemporary Dance is a leading Florida cultural organization with awards from the United Arts of Central Florida and the National Endowment for the Arts. Operating in accordance with the National Standards of Dance Education, programs are designed to provide students of all ages – from novice to professional – with vast experiences in classical, post-classical and world dance forms. Providing you and your family with an exceptional education in the dance arts is our top priority!  Here’s what sets us apart from the rest:

The Pedagogy

It’s not just what we teach, but how  we teach.  Our 16-year-old pedagogy guides the curriculum for all programs, and is proven to deliver results by responding to the unique creative and technical needs of each pupil, cultivating their transformation from student to Artist.  Learn about our Classical Ballet Program.

Leadership in Dance

We are innovators of dance.  A five-time winner of prestigious awards for Excellence in Dance from the National Endowment for the Arts, the organization has indisputably defined Central Florida’s next generation of dance culture, pioneering the explosion of contemporary dance in the area.  Learn about the Residency Program.

Social Responsibility

We care about our community.  Each year, our charitable work in the community reaches more than 5,000 public school students and over 1,000 underprivileged audience members, providing new opportunities for young people and special populations to engage in the arts. Support our charitable mission.

Diversity and Inclusion

We believe in providing opportunities for all.   And we mean what we say, as evidenced by recognition for our work from the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs with a 2017 Diversity & Inclusion Award.  Our commitment to Diversity and Inclusion makes us one of the most diverse arts organizations in the area, with a student and staff population that accurately represents all members of our community and creative works that celebrate our collective experiences.  Learn about our work in the community.
